Q: What is a Professional Organizer and what can they do for me?
A: Professional Organizers provide information, products and hands-on assistance to help people organize their home and workspace. A professional organizer guides, encourages and educates clients about basic principles of organizing by offering support, focus and direction. A professional organizer provides ideas, structure, solutions, and systems that will increase productivity and reduce stress. The Organizer helps you to physically weed out, sort, and arrange your belongings in such a way that enables you to use and/or store those items in the most effective and efficient way.
Q: How do we get started?
A: We first conduct a complimentary on-site assessment to review your needs. From there we will create a strategy and discuss your options for moving forward.
Q: How long will it take to get organized?
A: We can give you an estimate, but please keep in mind, that every person and situation is unique and there are many factors that will determine how long an organizing project will take. Some of these factors include: your decision-making skills, how much clutter is involved, your energy levels, the size of the project and how much time you can devote to it.
Q: Do I have to be home during the organization sessions?
A: Yes, we prefer to have the active participation of our clients to ensure successful systems that fit your unique needs.
Q: Do I need to spend a lot of money on organizing products?
A: No, we will try to utilize the products that you currently have in your home. If purchases are necessary we can do the shopping for you, we can shop together, or you can shop alone after we discuss your needs.
Q: Are you just going to throw away all my stuff?
A: We won’t throw away anything you don’t want us to. We specialize in developing organizational systems for any items you want to keep; however, we can assist you in making decisions that will help you meet your priorities and goals.
Q: What about the stuff I no longer want but don’t know what to do with?
A: We will happily take items to your donation facility of choice, or if need be, arrange for a donation facility to come and pick up items (which may also be used as a tax write-off.)
Q: What if I am embarrassed to show you my place?
A: This is a very important and sensitive issue for many people, even preventing some from really benefiting from our services. We understand the frustration of living and working in an environment that is not supportive or reflective of whom you want to be, and that is why we do what we do. We have been in a lot of people’s homes and offices, and have seen a lot of clutter. Chances are we have seen a lot worse than what you have in your situation. When we come to see you, we are not critical or judgmental; we are just looking for ways that we can tackle the challenge.
